I don't understand. Does the NICU have a window out into the family waiting area or something? I don't understand. How is it that a mom can be left naked in stirrups for delivery in front of 10 strange medical personnel and it be OK but lifting up her shirt to pump in the NICU in front of some what *familiar* medical staff is not OK? It's not like the mom is stripping off her shirt and bra to do this....right? Jeez, even if she was! But we're talking about lifting up a shirt to pump...in front of RNs. The same RNs that open up mothers hospital gowns without asking and shove babies onto mothers breasts? (excuse me, personal experience.) These women (RNs) are used to seeing breasts, and bodies and skin and fluid and *everything.* How come it's OK on their terms but not on this mom's terms?
I usually just lurk over posts like this but I just *can't* understand this one.
