Hi Camille,
With the history of prior lactation problems (traumatized nipples) and the
current history of Reynaud's, plugs, baby pulling, kneading, trouble
gaining, and GERD, I would definitely check baby out for tongue tie to any
degree. Possibly was an issue with previous baby too.
I wonder if the mom keeping warm (appropriate for Reynaud's), wearing
possibly several layers against her breasts, would be contributing to plugs.
When we are overfull (and likely the baby is not emptying her well) our
breasts naturally leak a bit and I think this keeps ducts open??? Several
layers against the nipple might be like holding your hand on their to stop
the leaking??? I'm just brainstorming here.
First impression to me, is to check out the baby, as above.
