I have tried pancrease, and not found it to be useful. Since I do
exclusively breastfeeding medicine, I see 3-4 babies every week with some
kind of food sensitivity (I know---TOO common to be believable) I am just
not comfortable prescribing them when I have not seen results.
However, there was just someone on the Academy of Pediatrics listserve
saying she feels they do help, so there you go. When I first heard of this
5-6 years ago, I contacted Dr Haight about it, and he told me he was doing
research on it, but I have never seen any study published.
I would consider offering it to a mom who is on a severely restricted diet
(not just dairy) whose baby is still having bloody diarrhea...but I have not
done so in 2-3 years.
