Just got this e-mail from one of my clients - I am worried.baby was born @
30 wks - has been and still is exclusively breastfed:

 

I started giving L (3 months corrected age) vitamins with iron about two
weeks ago after a 
blood test showed her iron is low (which is apparently common for preemies).
Starting at 
about that time, her bowel movements changed. Prior to the vitamins, she had
an average 
of three yellow mustard bowel movements per day (she only has breast milk).
I never 
noticed any passing of gas. In the last two weeks, she has had a total of
four bowel 
movement - two very large smelly black/green stools yesterday and the
previous Sunday. 
Also, she passes gas frequently. About half the time she starts to cry and
fuss just before 
the gas.
