For my own sanity...could someone please explain to me a few of the possible
reasons for a GP to take a set of healthy twins @ barely 36wks. gestation.
Mother has preeclampsia, on strict bed rest (in hospital) both mother & babies
pass daily stress tests. Liver enzymes of mommy are elevated. That's all I
know that could be questionable....I'm hoping there's a much more significant
reason than that.
I do know that preeclampsia can go from bad to MUCH worse very rapidly.
Personally speaking, I guess I would much rather have a baby in utero @ 37 or
38 wks. experiencing distress rather than 35 or 36 wks.; if something was to
go wrong...
GP wanted to take babies @ 35 1/2 wks ...which I find odd. If there are ANY
complications at all, they would have to be life flighted to Denver, this is all
taking place @ a Level I nursery right now. I'm completley confused. I asked
this mother & father if they wanted to wait & they hadn't even *thought*
about "asking"....that's how they put it. They talked with the Dr. and they
said he gave them another 7 days....do the parents actually *have* a say in
any of this at all? What's going on here? BTW she's barely over 36 wks.,
babies are both breech right now...
Thanks to all who are so *much* more educated in this area than
I....obviously!!
