The following information is posted with mother's permission:
Female child, ~5 years old, current weight 42 lbs.
Diagnosed with ITP immune (idiopathic) thrombocytopenic purpura today.
http://www.pdsa.org/media/press-kit/faq-itp-children-adults.htm
Lab work (today) was normal except: plateletts 9000.
No anemia, white cell count normal, sed rate was normal as well.
Child not on any meds, no known drug allergies, no surgeries or symptoms of
viruses right now either. No fever.
Child currently breastfeeding only 1-2 times/week.
Mother is asking:
1)If it would be beneficial to her daughter if Mother increased her milk supply?
2)Are there any other things that might help raise child's platelettes?
Thanks, in advance, for your help!
