<<I know I'm a little bit of an oddity
(LLLL>LCCE>IBCLC>RN>MA) but I think there are quite a few of us that have
taken a path something like this, so at least I'm an oddity in good
company.>>
You and me both, Dawn! I really dislike this path, I have to admit... The
nursing instructors are very put off (to put it politely) that I question
every breastfeeding thing they put out (no antihistimines, no alcohol,
severe diet, water to "dilute and wash out jaundice). It is very difficult
to sit on my hands and say nothing when there is terrible and incorrect
information being doled out to 40+ students in my class, knowing full well
they will join the work force, and at least a few of them will be spewing
this poor knowledge, pushing heads, squeezing breasts...
Best wishes from an LLLL to IBCLC to LPN to RN (in June)

Who just worked with a mother who was given antibiotics for her 7-day old
baby "because he has thrush" - I'm a little testy today...
