Note that ALL children in this study were initially breastfed, so this is
NOT a study of breastfed versus artificially-fed children; it just looks
at differences in duration and exclusivity.

It could well be that interrupting breastfeeding behaviors in the VERY
EARLY period is what negatively affects a mother's later behaviors toward
her child -- this has been well-documented in other studies not reviewed
by these authors -- but this study didn't examine that phenomenon.
