I want to signpost you to a great resource, one not often mentioned on 
lactnet -- the UK Baby Friendly Initiative website.

this is the link to the research area.  They have mini-evaluations of 
research and this is searchable.  If you go to the page just now one of the 
highlighted papers is about low birth weight babies; htere is a link in the 
sidebar to a review of the recent WHO review of the research on feeding 
preterm babies. 

These might have info you need. 

For anyone looking for info on breastfeeding topics, this can be a useful 
resource!!
