I have heard of using peanuts as a galactagogue before. (This was a common
recommendation when I had my first. My mother, on the other hand suggested
stout.)  However, it is my understanding that when peanuts are used in
traditional asian cultures they are boiled, not roasted.  There is a theory
that the high temperature roasting process used commonly now changes the
protein structure of peanuts and that this might be contributing to the
increasing rates of peanut allergy.
