Dear all:
I don't think I have ever worked with a mother with a bottle that had more than one hole ---
except for a few babies that were receiving some predigested formula. I did not comment
on any compression bottles --- but only the flow rates of standard bottles. I always find
when there is a situation in which a bottle is being used that the BEST indicator is the baby.
That having been said, I had ALREADY reached the same conclusion about flow rates on
various bottles based on CLINICAL observations. The CLINICAL observations and flow rates
matched up. So if a bottle is being used I always watch the baby using it.
So within the one-holed variety of bottles I see a lot of variation in the speed of the flow
and the ability of babies to cope with that flow.
Best, Susan
