Radio-iodine therapy for thyroid cancer generally requires weaning. The
National Regulatory Commission has a document with indications on the time
a mother should not breastfeed for each radiodisotope.
http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/doc-collections/nuregs/staff/sr1556/v9/index-old.html
is the link for the document on guidelines for breastfeeding and use of
radioisotopes.
Hope this helps
