Hi All,
I am a little behind in reading my posts (reading June 27th now) about
boycotting Medela. Just a thought about whether boycotts work. Remember
the US boycott on the French when they wouldn't support us right after 9/11
happened? I am certainly not intending to get policital, as I don't believe
Lactnet is the place for that, but I simply want to point out that the US
boycott of French goods crippled their economy, to the point where the
French voted out that leader and elected a leader who would support the US.
And to this day, I still know numerous people who continue to boycott Nestle.
We may not think it has harmed them, but if you look at their sales volume
compared to a similiar company, it may be less. Not to mention, Nestle reps
are still explaining their actions to doctors/medical providers/hospital staff,
etc...
On another note, I did email our area Medela rep about the unhappiness of
LC's over pumps in BRU. Her response was "if not Medela, BRU would get
pumps and products from another company". She does have a valid point
there...
