Isovue is a non-radioactive contrast agent that contains iodine. You might
want to look for more general info on radiocontast agents with iodine.
It is used in infants with precautions if there are pre-existing
conditions that may lead to dehydration
http://www.drugs.com/mmx/isovue-m-300.html
And you can find this in Lactmed http://toxnet.nlm.nih.gov/cgi-bin/sis/search
"Summary of Use during Lactation:
Intravenous iodinated contrast media are poorly excreted into breastmilk
and poorly absorbed orally so they are not likely to reach the bloodstream
of the infant or cause any adverse effects in breastfed infants. Both the
American College of Radiology and the European Society of Urogenital
Radiology have adopted policies stating that breastfeeding need not be
disrupted after a nursing mother receives an iodine-containing contrast
medium.[1][2] However, because there is no published experience with
iopamidol during breastfeeding, other agents may be preferred, especially
while nursing a newborn or preterm infant. "
Hope this helps

> Please help, I have looked on the NCR recommendation table and also
tried to find on line some information on the radiopharmaceutical: Isovue
370 (Iopamidol 76%) My patient was told 24 hours to pump and dump. The
nearest I can figure is that it would be 10 hours since the half life of
Isovue 370 is 2 hours, but I didn't find any specific information
regarding recommendation. Is anyone else familiar with this med? I checked
Hale's site as well, but could not find anything there either.=20
