I love all the photos -- and plan to purchase a calendar; thanks for the tip.
My personal theory: the photo is provocative because the mother is looking at *the camera* (which means, right at the person looking at *her*) while her baby is BF. I do think American audiences are more skittish about any BF photo; recall the ridiculous hullabaloo when one of the major-market baby mags had a close-up picture of a baby-at-breast on its cover. Recall too the elegant picture of Jerry Hall (Mick Jagger's ex) nursing her babe: she, too, was looking at the camera, and it made people squirm.
