Do you have any suspicion that mom may have OALD? The gas and reflux are two
possible signs. (One can have OALD without oversupply.)
I would suggest a second opinion. This doctor is disturbingly unknowledgable
about normal infant feeding/stooling.
I'm sure that he sees plenty of babies who are never breastfed who need
stool softeners too! He is a specialist in digestive difficulties! Of course
some of the patients he sees who are exclusively breastfed need them (once
they start solids).
