"Are there any studies out there that show the problems with using the =
25% sucrose solutions to assist with latch on? I am working with a new =
staff that uses it for multiple reasons, many of which are not =
associated with pain. I have been discouraging this but am finding the =
need for the research to back it up."
Use of sucrose wouldn't be compatible with exclusive breastfeeding,
which is recommended for the first six months. Why not use expressed
breastmilk/colostrum instead of a manufactured product??
