Ha, this was my question, too, last Sunday, about a prolactinoma and a mom
being prescribed norprolac.
Joy sent me the link to Hale, but I didn't register yet and don't know if he
explains only about the effect of the medication or also on the treatment of
a certain condition and the risks involved concerning lactation? I'd really
love to know more about it, as I would expect that once a woman is pregnant,
prolactin levels would rise according to gestation stage, which would then
also allow for lactogenesis I to happen.
Would it be necessary to keep taking bromocryptine or norprolac once a
pregnancy is established? And if they are taken and the tumor has shrunk,
will the pituitary then show signs of atrophy or will it 'wake up' again? I
remain curious...
Bye,
Marianne Vanderveen, Netherlands
