IN the cases of NEC that were noticed in Israel, the NICU was using Similac
Special Care which is supposed to be for preemies. It has added iron. Maybe
the extra iron causes the problem?
Unfortunately, this story was not mentioned on last night's evening news.
The story broke on Thursday night, had a full page in the Friday newspaper,
but Friday night and Saturday was one of the most hold days in the Jewish
calendar and there was no television, no news, no newspapers, and by last
night, the story was forgotten.
I cut it out of the newspaper and plan to hang it on the bulletin board in
the hospital today. I may be unemployed tomorrow since our hospital is a
Similac hospital.
