I will proudly say that I am a graduated WIC mom. We got WIC (a U.S.
Department of AGriculture supplemental food program) when we had three
children, ages 5 and under, and I was staying home with the kids. The moms
in my La Leche League group talked me into applying - they almost all were
WIC moms who were on maternity leave from teaching jobs.

We got wonderful Vermont cheddar and local eggs and milk. Luckily we didn't
have dairy or egg allergies. The WIC crew at that time (now 20 years ago)
were always delighted with our healthy breastfeeding kids, and they were
happy to receive our LLL flyers and to know about the childbirth classes I
soon started teaching, etc. It was a great way to meet some wonderful
people.

The best thing we can do to have healthy babies is to feed their moms while
they are in utero. And then, feed the baby and the mom!

Dawn Kersula in Vermont USA - proud that we feed our moms and our babies
here with as much non-GMO food as possible with our Farm to Family WIC
vouchers too
(and happy I could return to school and work as a nurse once my kids all
went to school)
