I was just getting ready to review the draft scope of practice for LCs that ILCA developed and requested comment on. (I believe the deadline is this Sunday, July 15.) I must admit that I am bothered by the apparent lack of cooperation between ILCA and IBLCE during the past 1-2 year, including the "discussion" re: which should be generating such a document. I'm not going to express my opinion here but, while doing some prep research, I found an incredible document that I hope the task force members for both orgs have had available while developing this important document. I highly recommend reviewing this document if this topic is one of interest for you (and it should be if you're an IBCLC or plan to be): https://www.ncsbn.org/ScopeofPractice.pdf

BTW, don't ask me why the url has an s in http(s), it just does and that's not a typo!

Karen
