I've only had a couple of moms who were 24-hour shift firefighters and
rescue personnel. It seems to be VERY difficult for these moms to continue
as part of a fire fighting team. The department seemed unable or unwilling
to make accommodations. The EMTs seem to do better, but mainly because they
are often transferred to a station that has less business.
And 24 hours away from baby is quite a challenge.
I'll be interested in what others have to say on this topic.
