This goes a long way to explaining the differences in previous studies - 
each child in the study would need to be assessed for the  properly 
working varient.

One wonders if the lack of the transfer with the gene has any 
correlation with formula feeding in prior generations.... 

One also wonders if there was any difference on uptake with the gene, on 
ALA versus DHA....

More reasons to check that pregnant and lactating mothers are taking in 
sufficient high quality Omega 3s directly in their diet.

(It's my soapbox and I'll bang on it loudly!)  ;-)
