hi anne,
well if I 'm figuring this right, the baby took 18 days to regain
birthweight. so that was slow. the reason was likely the fact that baby was
37 wks and a small baby. mom had a c/s and usually in these settings things
get off a  bit slowly.
after june 25, I get that he's gained 59 oz in 83 days, and if converted to
grams, I get about 20 gms/day average. This is acceptable gain I would think
if all else is going well.
However it does seem mom feels her supply is lessened. The big red flag that
I see waving is that baby sleeps 8-9 hours each night. I would be feeding
baby 2-4 x during this time period. I would recommend co-sleeping.
It is likely that this baby has a "laid back" type of personality, meaning
he is not a very demanding baby. I would have mom wearing the baby, and
sleeping with him, and nursing maybe 12 or 14 x in each 24 hr period if she
hasn't been doing that.
All in all his weight is not so bad, but I think he is not maximizing his
potential and more worrisome is Mom's chances of losing her supply.
