Jonah Avigdor Otter, who weighs 8#15oz, measures 20.5", has a
full head of dark, curly hair and long feet. Pictures soon!
Jonah was born to Abby and Joe at 3am on Tuesday July 31st, 2007, at
St Mary's Hospital in Troy, NY. Abby went into labour on Saturday,
July 28th. and apart from one three hour nap, did not sleep again
until her baby was born 63 hours later. Joe was a tower of strength,
offering her encouragement and praise. Her midwife, Michelle, was
knowledgeable and supportive, as were the nurses who were part of the
team.
Jonah has been very alert right from the start and nursed within half
an hour of being born. When we left the new family in their hospital
room this morning, he was snuggled next to his mama and they had both
fallen asleep nursing. Joe was planning to nap too, while Abby's
sister, Chana, and her own two little ones watched over them. They
will be coming home as soon as hospital regulations allow, at 3am
tomorrow (Wednesday) morning.
