Hello - HR reps from our hospital will soon be meeting with the IBCLC
group to discuss the pay scale, as this issue has been brought forward
recently. Because pay scales very so across the country (and do not
want appearances of price-fixing, etc.), I am not looking for what your
actual wage is. What I would be interested in is more the philosophy
of pay, i.e., more or less than a bedside clinical RN, etc. If you are
paid more than a bedside RN, is that true of other nurse educators in
your hospital, or does it vary depending on
certification/qualifications, etc. If you make less, same thing -- is
that true for other educators. Are you similar to other certified
educators, such as Diabetes Educators, etc.
So, if you know or can find the info, I'd appreciate knowing:
- how does your wage compare to a bedside RN in the hospital (more or
less)
- do you know how much more/less, i.e., the pay scale for a LC is 8%
less than a bedside RN
- What city/state are you located in
Thanks for this and any additional info you might have.
