I just wanted to mention that Listeria is quite common on the outside of
fruits and vegetables. My husband works in the fruit industry and here in
Perth, Western Australia there are regular random checks of growers fruit
and vegetable produce for, among other things, Listeria - often with
positive results. So that's why you should wash all your fruit and
vegetables thoroughly in good quality water before consumption.
