From my experience of one person, 3 pregnancies, my curly hair straightened with each pregnancy and returned to curly after weaning. Amazed my hair dresser.

I received a call from a former client yesterday who asked me whether
breastfeeding (hormones, body state) might have any effect on her hair becoming
straight rather than its' usual curliness. This is a new one for me but told
her I'd post to see if anyone has heard this complaint before. We discussed
the normal hair loss pp due to an increase in hair growth during pregnancy and
as far as hair goes, that's the only area of concern I've heard from moms and
unfortunately, it, like other things, is often blamed on breastfeeding. The
mom with the question of curls to straight hair has a 9 mos old who receives
mixed feeds, and mom is still on domperidone (of importance to consider, mom
is 50 yr). She also states she's been told that her sciatica is worse due
to relaxin hormone, but I thought this was released during pregnancy.
Thoughts on this? Thank you in advance for responses.
