Can she feel the letdown coming (it sounds like she can) and detach baby and
catch the forceful spray in a towel?
Can she elicit the first very strong MER prior to latching?
Has she considered medications or herbs? Sage? Peppermint tea?
Psuedoephedrine? Contraceptive pills?
I agree with you, I would not mess with the shield just now.
