I remember asking Dr. Hale several year ago regarding radiation because my best friend was nursing her 3 month old and diagnosised with a brain tumor. The option at that time was surgery and radiation and in my research I found that unless she was having radiation in the breast, and only localized to the brain, it won't affect her milk. Just a personal note: She did end up quiting due to all the medications anyways causing her to be a literal zombie and she ended up getting milk donated by several of our friends for an additional 3 months. I thought about re lactating because it was really important for her to give her baby breastmilk for at least 6 months. And half of the tumor is still in her brain due to the location and is not causing any trouble at this time...knock on wood.

Julie; IBCLC
