what are the most common meds given pre-op, for general anesthesia, and post-op, for an outpatient, laproscopic kidney stone removal? I'd like to give Hale's info on those meds to a friend who is having the procedure on Thursday, for her to show her urologist and surgeon. baby is 3 1/2 months old (and got plenty of meds in labor from the epidural!), and mom is currently taking lortab (hydrocodone-L2) and flomax "to relax the ureters" (my Hale is 11th ed.,2004, so I don't see it listed).
thank you,
vicki hayes rn ibclc in brunswick ga, who has never passed a kidney stone, but imagines it must feel the way I describe natural childbirth to hubby: like him passing a golf ball through his urethra? :-)
