Hi Dia,

This is really good news! Glad it is getting coverage in the USA. We
are about to get it here -- I write for South Africa's largest parenting
magazine, and they commissioned an article on co-sleeping for their
January edition. McKenna's book is in the reading list (it's available
from online book suppliers here too).
I think I may have posted about this here before, but will run it through
again. There is a new book out in Australia called, "Helping your Baby
to Sleep" by Anni Gethin and Beth Macgregor -- both with a background
in psychology and Beth is a member of the Australia Association for
Infant Mental Health.
The book is suitable for parents, but cites a lot of the research around
(including Allan Schore, James McKenna, etc.) They make a very
powerful case against both "sleep training" and "controlled crying", and
while they don't say much about breastfeeding, they are obviously well
informed.
Sadly the book doesn't seem to be available in the UK or the USA, but
you can buy it online from the publisher, Finch Publishing, in Sydney,
www.finch.com.au and a number of other online bookstores in Australia
(and, for any SA members we may have here, from www.loot.co.za). I
am finding this a very powerful book to reach professionals, and have
given out 5 copies to date.
So glad about your good news, Dia. It really seems that a turn-around
is starting to happen.
Warm wishes,
Pat
