Hi All,
I am getting ready to aggressively start a non-profit organization to
promote and protect BF in my area. I already am working on a peer
counseling program and hope to start training soon. I need ideas, links,
contacts, options and thoughts on this venture. I have NO IDEA what I am
doing and am going into this cold.but ready!
My BF mom support group was just thrown out of the organization I was
running it through (for 8 very successful months watching the group grow and
expand) with no warning and no reason. This happened to us 5 minutes before
group on Monday morning. 4 weeks ago this organization asked me to become
even more involved with them to promote BF as they expanded their business -
so I am at a loss as to what happened. As far as I knew we were on fabulous
terms. No one understands what happened. Am I pissed? You bet -
especially that it was done in front of my child and the other person who
was brought in to be a 'witness' (a mom who loves to come to my group) had
no clue what was going on and brought her children. But it has spurred me
into action in a big way. I have a large group of moms who need and want
the services I currently offer and plan to offer. They will be my support
and help.they have already said so.so, 'We' are in business!
So now my goal is to start my own non-profit and run a business that takes
care of not only my family but others as well. I just need to know where to
start. I am already doing research but any other thoughts and input would
be so very helpful! See, how I work is this: Someone may try to knock me
down and they may actually put me on the ground for a minute - but they will
never succeed at keeping me there. I'll not only get back up but I'll get
bigger and stronger and I'll grow - I'll get the help I need and grow a
business that makes a difference in my area - and maybe even more than just
my area.it may take me time - but watch me do it!
Thanks in advance for any and all input.
