Could everyone please post these references?
A lot of mothers and hcps I've worked with ask about what happens in 
terms of colostrum at birth when nursing through pregnancy and/or tandem 
nursing. Mothers usually report being aware of having colostrum and the 
transition to mature milk, but also higher volumes in the early days. 
But this is anecdotal, and I'd love to see research on it so I could 
answer the questions more knowledgeably. So far, I usually just say... 
it's great and to be encouraged! :-) I guess that's how I would reply to 
you, Emily... lots of mom have nursed all the way through pregnancy and 
beyond. In the absence of high risk of premature labour, there is no 
reason to stop a month before in any of the literature I've seen.
