I tell the mothers with broken skin to wash once a day with the same soap
they use for their baby, assuming that baby soap is mild. I tell them that
like a cut anywhere on the body, they have to make sure that it stays clean.
Hope this is clear, I haven't had my coffee yet.

Subject: mild soap?
"Soap on wounded skin? OWWW!"
Interesting! I thought mild soap on broken-skin nipples was becoming fairly
mainstream, but maybe it's just a US thing. The thinking, as I understand
it, is "Hey, this is skin, and anywhere else on the body if there were
broken skin we'd be keeping it clean." Are other countries not doing this?
