Kristen,
Upon what evidence is the doctor basing his assumption that Lyme's disease
during breastfeeding is causing your child's health problems? I am truly
interested because I had Lyme's disease while exclusively breastfeeding my daughter
at 3 mos of age. Am I to fault Lyme's for her mild ADHD (undiagnosed but
apparent)? And all along I thought she inherited it from her dad. Conversely, I
guess I can't assume that her years of nursing had no effect on the fact that
she's never in her 18 yrs been on antibiotics? (TIC, and yes, I'm not so
naive that I believe there aren't additional factors for her good health). It
just seems that breastfeeding gets blamed for everything that might go "wrong"
with babies/children.
As to mercury exposure, I do not have the information to comment. I do know
that too many moms agonize over breastfeeding due to their diet, the meds
they're taking, this or that exposure to toxins/polluted world, and are robbed of
the beauty of an unquestioned, unmolested breastfeeding relationship. I'm
sorry for the pain and doubt this must put you through, as well.
I recently consulted with a mom re mercury overload and can ask her if she'd
communicate with you re her experiences; email me privately, please.
I've had Lymes, by the way, three times, and once had an infected bite that
was originally diagnosed as a spider bite, and did not think of this with
original post about spider bite. Good call for the original poster to pass along.

Hello from Sunny (HOT) Florida,
I am gathering information to for a doctor on breastfeeding and Lyme
Disease. This is for personal and professional reasons. 11 yrs. ago I was
dx/tx
for Lyme Disease while breastfeeding my 3 yo son.. He feels my son's health
problems and learning disorders are a result of Lyme exposure while
breastfeeding and his exposure in utero to my mercury toxicity (I was
recently dx). I
provided him with Dr. R. Lawrence's evidence.
The posts on the spider bite prompted me to post - - at first I was told
Brown Recluse spider bite and had open wound w/ much pus (staph). Any info
is
greatly appreciated.
