Hi All,

I also did the BRU seminar for Medela. Personally, $25 would have been
great but $200 for sitting there doing what I LOVE doing was good too. :-)

The gal (Tina) who handled the seminar at the store I worked at was a real
sweetie. She made sure I had everything I needed, water, chair, etc.
Several of the employees checked in to make sure all was well. At the end
of the event Tina came over to wrap things up and I asked her if BRU had
events like this on a regular basis - apparently they have small seminars on
various subjects ever Tuesday. I asked if she did ones on BF. She said she
sure wanted to - but didn't have anyone to do them.they do now! I am set up
for 1 Tuesday a month though the end of the year! Gave her a stack of cards
and fliers - told her to call me anytime.she wants to become a BF educator
or possibly an IBCLC someday. I told her I'd LOVE to help her!

While I was in between 'sets' a pregnant lady had seat and asked if we could
just chat one on one. :-) I LOVE talking so of course I was happy to.
Turns out she has 6 other women besides herself pregnant in her office.
They are working together to put together a pumping room. I asked her if
her company would be interested in perhaps renting a couple of hospital
grade pumps for her and her co-workers. She said that sounded like a neat
idea. I said, if their company went through me, I'd cut the employees a
good deal on the kits to go with the pumps. She loved the idea! I said,
"Have your person in charge of those things call me and we'll talk
business!" She said, "Seeing as how I happen to be the one who makes those
decisions I'll be calling you very soon!" I'll let you know if she does.
:-)

So, for me it went very well. I left the script at home and had a group of
about 25 people hang out with me for well over 90 minutes asking question
after question.various topics - I had a blast! Oh, there was another
business there that does the stork signs. They set the signs up and have
big bottles that go around the base of the sign.sigh.so I got to talking to
them. The female owner is VERY pro-breastfeeding. So we talked about other
things besides bottles that she could use to decorate the base of the sign.
She loved the ideas.we got a good laugh when her hubby suggested breasts
with a baby peeking between them with a big grin on it's face! She decided
that probably wouldn't work tho. :-)

Hope others who did the BRU thing had a good time too.

Warmly,

Jaye
