Hi Jaye, just an idea here..My daughter needed to be evaluated for something
similar... When babies are forming in the womb, as you know, they form from
both sides of the face coming togther in the middle. Why clefts are somewhat
common, the line doesn't come together completely. I would wonder if this
baby has something possibly like congenetal nasal polyps or a tiny portion of
the bones or cartilage in this baby did not close. She may have a milder
version of what her dad had. Using up calories to breathe, could have an
affect on her weight gain. I know .75 is good, but is the MD looking for an
ounce / day for weight gain? Is this baby sleeping a lot? MOre than most at
this age? I agree somethings not right. I would earge mom to see an ear
nose, throat specialist.
