Hi all,
A mother is experience extreme itching, no visible rash on her breasts
only shortly after feeding her 11 week old baby. In the early weeks
this was an occasional incident that passed quickly. She has not been
experiencing this itching non stop and at the same time her milk
supply has dropped significantly.
We are addressing any possible feeding management causes for the low
supply, just in case they are unrelated, but according to mother milk
supply was excellent and she had extra to pump and store for when she
returns to work. Now she pumps and doesn't get much, her breasts feel
diferently and her baby is not as happy as he has been. The itching
and the drop in supply appear to her to be starting at the same time
with the itching intensity increasing as her supply gets lower.
Are there any possible connections between itching and supply as
symptoms of an underlying condition she can be checked for?
Thank you,
