Greetings,
I have looked in Hale and on his website as well as
the lactnet archives with no luck. I know that
clonidine used as a anti-hypertensive is an L3 with
there being some concern about prolactin supression.
I have a mom who needs to have a Clonidine suppression
test done to rule out an adrenal tumor that may be
causing her blood pressure problems during pregnancy.
She states that she needs to have the test done
"sometime" but it should be done sooner rather than
later. She has a baby born 4/20/2007. The one time
dose of Clonidine is .3mg for the test. Has anyone
had experience with this test during lactation?
Is it ok to do it after the golden 6-8 week milk
establishment period? Is this an especially high
dose?
Thanks,
