Hi,
Am working with a client who had 29 hours of IV fluids (no epidural, pitocin
or any other meds) due to there being low amnio fluid in the sac - this was
diagnosed before her water broke. I have never heard of this before. Does
giving that much IV fluid to a woman actually help with the fluid level in
the amniotic sac?
Clearly this is NOT my area of expertise! The extremely severe engorgement
this mom is suffering as a result is a travesty.she called me at 7pm last
night (at her mother's insistence) and my good buddy Karen E. and I worked
together to get her a pump by 8pm-ish. She is doing green cabbage, Epsom
salt soaks, cold compresses and pumping - she will see a lymphatic drainage
practitioner tomorrow.
Thanks for the info and education!
