I have to agree that I do not see diet implicated much in colic symptoms.
However, I have had 2 cases where I beleive the symptoms were due to mom's
overconsumption of "junk." One mom reported she consumed large amounts of
candy all day, and one mom reported she drank significant amounts of a
carbonated soda "Sierra Mist." I have also seen fussiness, colic in babies
of smokers. In Mississippi here (southeastern USA) many people smoke. It is
not unusual for a mother to report she started smoking at age 10, or even 7.
It is a very big problem here because mothers want to disconnect from their
catheters and Iv's (c/s births) or otherwise leave the baby in the nursery
to go outside a smoke many times each day. Even though our hospital is
non-smoking even anywhere on the outside campus.
