Hi am contemplating starting a maternal and child health graduate cert/diploma next year. This is always been my goal but now I am wanting to persue for a number of reasons...I want to be a lactation consultant and this will help me do my hours (I have already almost finished the breast-ed series through health-e-learning), secondly I can follow my babies who are homebirthed through into young adolesence and thirdly after being called a charloton (by the powers that be a the district hospital) I feel like I should have all qualifications to persue this venture!! :)

My question is to the wise women (and men) on these lists, is do you have any recommendations as to which universities (perferably Australian Universities) offer well respected and quality maternal child health courses? I have checked out a few now, but value your personal opinions either from experience or hear say. I suppose I'd like to have a university that I could RPL my research subjects having already done those through my GD of Midwifery and if there are speciality subjects/elective subjects I would like to be able to do subjects that correlate with a master of midwifery...I don't want to have to rehash subjects again and again.

Thanks in advance.

Blessings,
Rachael
