As I recall, it is the Special Care (premie?) formula that gives a baby
more Mag in the first couple days than they would get from breasstfeeding
when mom is on it.  I believe it was Ruth Lawrence who did the math on this
but I am not certain.  It is frequently those babies on Special Care where
the mom would also be on Mag.  I suppose some might claim that a baby
getting it from both sources would have a cumulative dose, but at least for
those babies who would be on "regular" formula if not getting mother's
milk, if mom would be giving a healthy baby less than a "sick" baby would
get on a special formula where is the concern?
