Jacqulyn,
I had the same thing happen today in our SCN! A mom with twins had started
out non-nutritive breastfeeding, but had not put the babies to breast in
several days. Now her little boy twin is going home tomorrow, and has not had
much practise. When I asked her about this, she told me that she can't
breastfeed because she has to bring her older child with her to the SCN, he is
a boy, and would see her and that she was uncomfortable about this. She will
be working on breastfeeding when she takes the baby home, while the older
child is at school.
I am trying to understand these feelings she has, and it's been difficult.
Sometimes it's so hard to try to be non-judgemental!
