I am in NY and have also recently seen that commercial and also plan to write
a letter. Since I have always been a Stop and Shop customer, I even
thought of sending a picture of myself grocery shopping with my 19 month old
in a sling, which is how I am always shopping there. My little guy has also
nursed in Stop and Shop many many times, all while in his sling.
With four kids, I am at the grocery store constantly, and I have to say I have
probably gotten more complipments and comments on my slings and
babywearing in general while at that particular store. They probably would
have had a nice impact had that mom been babywearing in the commercial,
and with no bottle shown. The way the bottle was presented in the
commercial was like a sore thumb, feeding the baby did not need to be
addressed to get the point of the commercial across, but I guess they felt it
did since they stock formula and bottles.
