I readily acknowledge all the points Morgan makes in her glass-half-full post
about a former WHO code-flaunting company deciding to strive for compliance
with that code.
Of course I am in favor of companies doing this. My response is, Mazel Tov
(as in, it's about TIME they did this). I'm just enough older than Morgan to be
able to claim the right to be cantankerous and, well, grumpy. She can just be
happy I wasn't in that mode at High Tea last week :-)
What makes me grumpiest of all is that so many people on this list are so
easily bowled over into exuberant, triumphant and uncritical joy by a PRESS
RELEASE saying that this could happen - if the companies involved keep their
word. Don't count your chickens before they're code compliant. And don't
put all your eggs in one pump collection container. And please please please
don't stop working to bring the US in line with the rest of the known world as
far as attitudes to maternity leave and childrens' rights go.
As far as mothers saying that Whatever Brand pumps suck - isn't that what
they are meant to do?? (sorry, could not resist)
