Hi to all of you,
I have been contacted by a futur mother, who has Sharp syndrom; she has been
treated with prednisone for 8 years. at the beginning of her pregnancy she
took 7.5 g of prednisone and at the moment (8 months of pregnancy) she takes
5 g; the doctor refuses to lower the doses.
I have found nothing for the moment on the list, nore in Lawrence's
excellent "Breastfeeding a guide for the medical profession", and Hales
gives data for smaller doses from 10 to 80 mg a day...
This futur mom wants to breastfeed, but I actually have no idea about her
"being allowed to breastfeed or not" because of these very high doses?
Has anyone of you taken care of a Mom with Sharp syndrom, what about this
treatment and breastfeeding? she tells nothing about an additional
medication.
Thanks for all,
Breast regards,
Françoise Coudray
