Happy Holidays to all who celebrate.
I have a mom with a question. She is breastfeeding her now 5 month old son.
She is on Zoloft for postpartum depression. She feels the usual side
effects of restlessness and insomnia. Problem is, so does her baby. He is not
sleeping well and seems unsettled even when he is sleeping. Her concern is not
just that the Zoloft is causing this behavior for him, but will it have long
term effects. I cannot find anything about long term effects on the baby.
I have found plenty of information about the effects of depression on the
baby.
Is there any information I can share with her to set her mind at ease, or is
really better for her to consider weaning?
Thanks,
