I have to say I have never used glucose water to get a baby to latch.
I have used sterile water and it has worked many a time. I firmly
believe it is "a lot of something" that gets the babies attention and
the sweetness is not necessary. I cringe at the thought of dripping
formula on a mom's nipple. I also firmly believe if a baby has never
had glucose water dripped anywhere near his tongue he won't expect it
or prefer it. One can only "prefer" something one has experienced.
